Worksite Wellness Programs
Many
corporations and organizations in this country have
been implementing fitness and wellness programs since
the 1980s and they are finding these programs
documents the following claims:
- The average stress-related worker¹s compensation claim costs employers $13,339.
- The average smoker costs a company $960 a year in insurance and time lost.
- The average overweight person costs a company $401 a year.
- Healthy employees have shown increases in productivity as high as 25%.
- The cost of treating preventable diseases is skyrocketing.
Eighty / Twenty Rule

Basically it states that in any series of elements to be controlled, a selected small fraction in terms of number of elements almost always accounts for a large fraction in terms of effect.
- Microsoft once discovered that eliminating 20% of a programs software bugs resulted in an 80% reduction in system crashes.
It is a guiding principle not an absolute truth. The premise of the principle should make you evaluate what you are doing and have you focus your effort to get the most bang for your buck.
- The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality says that 20 percent of the population incurs 80 percent of total health-care expenses.
We know that this segment is made up of people with preventable chronic conditions. Developing a system of education and measured and progressive and exercise response will address the needs of people with high-cost, chronic diseases and those who are at greatest risk for hospitalization. It will have a major impact on managing your health-care budget.
Many of the chronic conditions can be improved or cured through proper exercise and nutrition. Unfortunately many misconceptions such as : NO PAIN - NO GAIN, or Fad / YoYo diets prevent people from enjoying the benefits of good health.
Health Education and Awareness are hot topics within corporations to contain costs, keep employees working, minimize time off the job and provide the direction that employees need to stay healthy long past their working years.
We have the experience to deliver the results oriented message that you desire.

My First Race - Walk / 5KTips to help you achieve this goal
Reality of the 80 / 20 rule

In an ideal world we’d like to believe that effort and results are equally rewarded.
One unit of effort should reap One unit of results.
This view does not match up with reality.
Effort and reward have a non-linear relationship.
Sometimes we can plug away at a task for hours and get minimal results, other times results seem to flow after only a short period of time. This can be very frustrating.
So it is not surprising people give on exercise, gyms, nutrition and other life goals. Especially those that need it the most - the 20%.
The likelihood of exercising depends on the person’s perception of the severity of health risks and appraisal of the costs and benefits of taking action.
The message needs to be reinforced and repeated in a supportive environment to be understood.
So each lecture is design to stand on its own and or be integrated with other lecturers in a series depending on your needs. We reinforce the notion that fitness and health involves a combination efforts in all the lectures.

Henry Ford once
said: "If you believe that you can or can't either
way you are right".
We would welcome an opportunity to discuss your
requirements and to developing a proposal to address
those requirements.
Post Lecture Services
The likelihood of
exercising depends on the person’s perception
of the severity of health risks and appraisal
of the costs and benefits of taking action. We
have identified services that can appeal to a
broad range of those perceptions.
-
On Site - One on One Wellness CoachingSome people can benefit from one on one coaching. An experienced coach can help them identify their goals, quantify past efforts, help them determine what worked and didn't. Once we identify the barriers to longer term compliance; We keep them focused on the goals they deem important and a workout plan that is time based vs distance based with goals that they can commit to. Coaching sessions are normally one half to one hour sessions and can be scheduled in conjunction with lectures.
-
On Line / Skype - Training ConsultationThis is an excellent alternative to or compliments any of the other training programs. Skype equipped computers or TV's can be utilized to ask questions, update progress and setbacks, discuss future goals and program modifications or contingencies. The same session can be conducted online via update forms or online with phone consultation.
-
